Solar Eclipse in Libra

Solar Eclipse in Libra

The Libra New Moon is a Solar Eclipse on Wednesday, 2nd of October at 20:49

This time is all about new beginnings and a new direction in life. Not only is it a New Moon, it is also an eclipse, which is when the sun and the moon are aligned together on the ecliptic (the suns orbit).

The new moon is in Libra, a cardinal-air sign ruled by Venus. The sign is focused on cultivating social harmony, bringing things together, and resolving issues so we can feel more safe and secure in our social and relationship oriented environments. Therefore the new beginning has a relational component, it’ll involve other people relationally or tangentially.

The moon is within the 2nd decan of Libra, which is co-ruled by Saturn and associated with the Three of Swords tarot card also known as the Lord of Sorrow, because it involves betrayal or the distrust of someone. A new start in contracts, agreements, or issues and trust needs a new start. This could be the final energy of you cutting ties with a group or agreement/ situation in order to firmly find your own footing.

The moon is also conjunct to the south node, that is to do with the past and letting go or emptying out. This ecliptic season lasts 6 months and requires a letting go of a relational part of your life. Even though there is an ending, this cycle has a new beginning of firmer footing that will last the next 6 months.

An ending is not always a loss, often it is a beginning to an opportunity that is more aligned with your current version of yourself. Be confident in the changes that you’re about to journey through for you have everything you need within you.
