LinkUp Western Cape

Editorial November/December 2016

Summer is upon us with the warm sunshine and the longer daylight.
I was amazed at how abundant the veld is with flowers when I
went for a walk with my family to Peers’ Cave above Fish Hoek.
Masses of tiny little flowers that can only be seen when you stop to
take the time to ramble through Nature. How fortunate we are to
live in this amazing Floral Kingdom.
Would you like to do something more outdoors and benefit the
environment at the same time? Check out Greenpop’s activities
on the back page and see how you can get involved!
Would you like to reduce the amount of gluten in your diet? I am
doing so and feeling better for it. Buckwheat porridge is delicious
eaten with stewed apple and cinnamon instead of cereal for
breakfast and I share a recipe with you for seedcrackers that is
easy to whip up.
Congratulations to our two winners: Beverley Worship who wins
the Khoelife hamper and Sandra Dicks who wins the Enchantrix
hamper. We have another Khoelife hamper to give away this issue
and a hamper of Love your Womb herbal products especially for
the ladies.
It was drawn to my attention that the recipe for Gluten-free Barone
cookies in our July/August issue is Not gluten-free as the
Bar-one chocolates do contain gluten. Please accept Link-Up’s
apologies for the mistake. You can make the cookies using Snickers
bars instead for a truly gluten-free experience.
My best wishes to all writing exams at this time of year and to all of
you for a peaceful and relaxing end of year.
May you be blessed.
